1964 to 1968

Robin May was ordained and inducted into the joint pastorate of Knowle and Hampton in Arden in 1964. During his pastorate, the church hall was built and a scout group established.  

Robin went to Woodford Green Congregational Church in 1968.

His widow continued to live locally and attend Dorridge Methodist Church.  

I shall be sorry in many ways to be leaving Knowle.  I have a great number of friends there and in Hampton also... It has not been easy in Knowle... I came to Knowle straight from College, and somebody said at that time that no man leaving College could be facing a more difficult situation.  There was an element of truth in this... But I think churches throughout the country are facing difficult times.  I shall never lose the affection I have felt for Knowle and I wish, most sincerely, that the church here will have every success in the future.
